Jam-session in Sokolniki
This weekend The Gorka hosted the All-Russian Ski & Snowboard Show jibbing contest, as part of the preparation to EXTREMEX, Moscow’s main park extreme festival. For the first time ever Moscow park space was used for an event of this format, attended by top-ranking professionals. Evidently, it was a huge success both with the visitors and the participants. A snow-park had been erected at The Gorka overnight, meeting every bit of international standards. By the way, the shapers that built it are also involved in Olympic installations design and construction. The jibbing show was held in the jam-session format; the referees were evaluating the participants’ technical performance, as well as the stunts’ effectiveness. The music background was provided by DMC Panda, arriving in a pimped ride from Red Bull. Yuri Pashkov, famous extreme sportsman, TV and radio anchorman. 6 TV-channels were filming the event.
Only the best mountain skiers and snowboarders from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, and Smolensk made it to the finals after qualification. The main prize went to Aleksandr Suchkov from Moscow, who performed several effective 900 degree stunts. The event had been organized by Moskau Messe, supported by Red Bull, Volkswagen, and Armada. |
