The organizing committee of EXTREMEX Independence, the International festival of extreme sports, leisure and tourism which is to take place in Sokolniki Park from June 12th – 15th, 2014, has received a letter of greeting from the Moscow city Government. In his address, Nikolay Gulyaev, the first deputy head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of the city of Moscow remarks that currently EXTREMEX Independence is one of the most significant events of the capital in the field of extreme sports.

Denis Tsukanov, Curator of the EXTREMEX Independence festival, was interviewed for Bolshoi Sport, Olympic champion Alexei Nemov’s magazine. In his interview Denis summed up the results of the sports season 2013.

The Putyayevskie Ponds in Sokolniki Park have seen the conclusion of the 2013 summer wakeboarding season. The final event was the Vertigo Games supported by IWWF. Kickers, quarter pipes, and other stunt structures were specially delivered from Rostov-on-Don.

In June, Sokolniki Park was hit by EXTREMEX. Yesterday Sokolniki saw the most fascinating and breath-taking event in the park’s history. The Festival Square proved to be insufficient to accommodate all freestyle motocross fans who came to savour an unforgettable performance from Europe’s best riders, flooding all surroundings three hours prior to the event.

On June 12th-16th, 2013, Sokolniki will unleash EXTREMEX Independence, Moscow’s biggest park extreme festival, featuring a freestyle motocross show from Russian and foreign pro-riders, as well as presentation of the first facilities of a summer extreme-park, such as a rock-climbing wall, an artificial surfing wave, and a wakeboarding push-and-pull winch. The bulk of the show programme will hit you in the Festival Square at 05.30 pm on June 12th.

Legendary European pro riders Hugo Ariazu and Daniel Bodin have confirmed their participation in the freestyle motocross show due on June 12th in Sokolniki Park within the framework of EXTREMEX. Independence (June 12-16th), Moscow’s main extreme park festival. Hugo Ariazu holds the title of the quad bike freestyle champion of Spain, whereas Daniel Bodin is the snowmobile freestyle champion of Sweden. Both pro riders are members of the international Red Bull team.

In June Sokolniki Park for Business and Leisure will be transformed into a launch pad for the long anticipated extreme park comprising various active sports facilities. The official presentation of the project is scheduled for June 12 timed to coincide with the opening of EXTREMEX Independence, Moscow’s and Russia’ biggest park extreme festival.

This weekend The Gorka hosted the All-Russian Ski & Snowboard Show jibbing contest, as part of the preparation to EXTREMEX, Moscow’s main park extreme festival. For the first time ever Moscow park space was used for an event of this format, attended by top-ranking professionals. Evidently, it was a huge success both with the visitors and the participants
