The presentation of the largest in Russia, the CIS countries and Eastern Europe festival of extreme sports, recreation and tourism “EXTREMEX” took place in pavilion number 7 of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre on November 25, 2011. The event brought together representatives of the companies involved in extreme industry, as well as travel agencies, embassies and of course, the media. There were some special guests: Alexey Kolesnikov, the most titled motor-freestyler, the only Russian pro-rider performing Back Flip with a landing on the ground, and Alexander Suchkov, a multiple winner of Russian Championships in Ski freestyle (new school).

The public was smiling even before the actual event started. In effect, the presentation had an interesting twist to it; although held inside the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, where traditionally classical music fills the rooms, the reception had a different feel to it thanks to the australian punk-rock background music played by the incomparable AC/DC. Director General of Moskau Messe Company, Alexey Kharyutkin welcomed the guests. He spoke about the major projects held in Sokolniki. Then the floor was taken by Head of Public Relations Department of Sokolniki Park and Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, EXTREMEX’s head manager, Denis Tsukanov who unveiled the plan for extreme development and construction of extreme facilities in the park, as well as described the concept and the opportunities of Extreme World Expo Show in details.

Beginning in 2012, Sokolniki to become the main extreme venue supported by the Moscow Government. The first object of the zonal Extreme Park – skate park with the area of ​​2,000 square meters – to be launched in the spring of 2012. And already in May, festival EXTREMEX to take place. The park to continue being equipped with new facilities for extreme sports in the next few years.
