A day of water extreme for President and Prime Minister
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spent one day resting in the Astrakhan region and doing extreme sports. First, the “political tandem” took time sport fishing on the banks of the Volga. After a successful catch the President and the Prime Minister took a short walk on boat. Such an active recreation ended with a dive: Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin dressed in diver suits, took special underwater cameras and plunged to the bottom of the Volga. The politicians shut many under water pictures that turned out to be quite professional.
This keen attention to extreme sports on the side of top officials is regarded as a matter of respect not only for specialists, but also to the young generation of Russians. The interest is confirmed and documented. Thus, the organizing committee of EXTREMEX — the premier extreme event in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe — has already got letters of support from the Federation Council Commission on Physical Culture, Sport and Development of the Olympic Movement, the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of Russia and the Moscow Government (Moscow Sport Committee).
