Russian Cultural Heritage Web Portal. Artificial surfing wave and Extreme Park in Sokolniki
Source: culture.ru Moscow parks are actively preparing for the spring-summer season which is scheduled on May 1st. This summer Sokolniki park will erect an artificial surfing wave, extreme park and many other interesting things. “Sokolniki will become the first parks with an artificial surfing wave.” “Of course it is not Hawaii, it is more like an attraction for beginners who are just about to try the board. Another similar attraction to the artificial surfing wave will be located on Putyayevskie ponds - a wakeboarding push-and-pull winch. That’s just right for beginners, learning to keep their balance on the board,” Andrey Lapshin, director of Sokolniki park said in Komsomolskaya Pravda interview. Putyayevskie ponds will see a boating station. The official presentation of the project is scheduled for June 12 timed to coincide with the opening of the biggest summer park for extreme riders with an area of over 2700 meters which will unify a skate park, rock-climbing wall and a novelty of the season – an artificial surfing wave. Besides, two brand-new cinemas will appear in Sokolniki in the nearest future. The first mobile one starts its work after May 10th, and the second one opens in August. It is going to be a permanent cinema with seating for 480 visitors. Starting with May 1st roller blades, bicycles for children and adults, and segways will be available to rent at the main entrance of Sokolniki Park and at the Pesochnaya Alley. Source: culture.ru |
