Antiskid Minnesota Ice
On January 26 Saint-Paul (Minnesota) hosted Red Bull Crashed Ice 2013, ice cross downhill championship second leg. The Russian team was the 6th in team total, and as far as individual classification is concerned, Andrei Lavrov came 17th, whereas Khariton Vlasov and Pavel Kryukov only slightly improved their position, making it to 43rd and 53rd place respectively. Once again the lucky winner was the Canadian fire fighter Kyle Croxall.
“The ice is dry and slow”, Andrei said. “I was using my usual style, didn’t take that into account, had a long way to jump, lost my speed and failed to catch up”. It is not for nothing that Minnesota is called the American Siberia – in winter the average temperature is 10 C below zero. At the competition start it was 18 C below zero, so the Russian team felt at home. Nevertheless the miracle did not happen. Next destinations – The Netherlands, Switzerland, and the final leg in Quebec, there is no time to lose, it’s time to go and rock! The next leg is due on February 9, so our guys must brace up and start accumulating points. Antiskid Minnesota Ice Source: Red Bull |
