March 14-16, 2012: One of the most hotly anticipated snow events of the season, Winter X Games Europe returns to Tignes, France, with live U.S. coverage on ESPN2 and ESPN3 as well as extensive coverage on ESPN’s international networks. This year will mark the third consecutive year the event will be held in Tignes and will feature more than 150 of the world’s best action sports athletes competing in Skiing and Snowboarding. Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI) — The first gold medal winner in the inaugural Winter X Games Europe in 2010 in Snowboard SuperPipe, Podladtchikov, had to sit Winter X Games Aspen out last year due to a shoulder injury but returned to France to earn a silver in the SuperPipe competition. Known for his double McTwist 1260 and back-to-back double cork 1080s, Podladtchikov is ready to earn that top spot once again on the podium in France.
