Motosports. MX1: sensation in Germany!
On Sunday in Teutschenthal Eugeniy Bobryshev won the German Grand Prix in one of the most spectacular kinds of motorcycling in the most prestigious class, MX1. Thus, a 23-year-old native of Kaluga region has become the first Russian winner in motocross at such a high level, but at the same time he came close to the prize triple of the World Cup overall standings.
- Eugeniy, how was the race proceeding?
- In the first race I won the start and was ahead up to the finish. The track was very technical, it was necessary to choose the right path. Without any problem I found a good line and followed it. My main rival over the weekend was a four-time world champion, Tony Caroli from Italy. He sped to overtake me, but it did not work. The Italian went on a limit, he fell, and lost behind. In the second race I had to try a fall with him, resulting in the second round we had a little contact, and Caroli fell again. He rose quickly and in the end came closer to me. So in the finishing spurt we drove hard, but I didn’t allow him to give the dust to me. - Triumph at the stage of Grand Prix has come to you in the middle of your second season on a higher level. Can you remember the most difficult moment in your sporting career?
- In 2006, I dropped out due to injury. It is not easy to return after such a downtime, sense of speed becomes lost. - Profile portals write about your victory: “Without a doubt, this is a great step forward for the Russian motor sport”. Do you agree? - Yes, because something like that hasn’t happened for thirty-two years since Gennadiy Moiseyev. History of our motor cross is very good, we have world champions. Our species is being revived, and it's nice.
