Having won the silver medal in snowboarding: men's parallel giant slalom at the Olympics in Sochi, Russian sportsman Nikolai Olyunin noted he has been working out a lot to get this medal. He also admitted Pierre Vaultier deservedly won the golden medal:

- As soon as I crossed the finish line, I only remember flashing and Dictaphones. Honestly, I do not really like it. - Nikolai Olyunin noted. – I still can’t believe it. I just want to go home, see my family. It was really hard because of the start delaying. But I focused and proved Russia is good at snowboarding too! We do have great sportsmen in this kind of sports.

- Do you consider yourself as a pioneer in this kind of snowboarding? Do you think your successful participation will held to develop this particular sport?

- A pioneer? I do not know, really. But always ready to be one! (Laughing). Well, I think yes, I am a pioneer. I have just finished participating in the  Junior World Championships. I am 22 years old. I think for my age I have made it quite far. I used to spend a lot of time training in Switzerland and Austria. I hardly ever visited my family. We have spent months in trainings. Pierre Vaultier is a true man of snowboarding. It seems like he was born to do it. He deserved this gold medal.
