The “big five” of boat towers to be first introduced at EXTREMEX festival in Sokolniki
One of the sections of the EXTREMEX International Festival of affordable and elite sports, recreation and tourism is the Water Extreme show. The section is for water extreme sports. Much of the exposition will be allotted for the wake-industry, namely wakeboarding and wakesurfing. These types have been very actively developing in recent years in Moscow, St. Petersburg and some Russian regions. Wakeboarding can be compared to water-skiing, when the athlete (or the rider) is towed behind a motorboat holding the rope (or the fall) and doing various tricks on the wave. The rider stands on a wakeboard — a board with bindings, something resembling a snowboard. Wakesurfing is also gaining popularity from year to year. To catch a wave today it is not so necessary to go to the ocean somewhere in Bali or Australia. Modern towers create a prototype of an ocean wave. Today surfing is possible even on the Moscow River or the Volga.
This type of recreation is extremely popular in large metropolitan areas in a hot weather. Escaping from the office routine and bustle, people tend to get out in wake clubs after work, to relieve stress and get an adrenaline rush.
The Water Extreme show framework in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre will feature a presentation of professional equipment and accessories for wakeboarding by the best manufacturers from the collections of 2012. The Russian wake clubs and recreation centers will be represented by a large collective stand. In addition, the festival organizer, Moskau Messe company, is planning to gather in one hall all the representatives of the “Big Five” — the manufacturers of tower boats —, including MasterCraft, Malibu, Centurion Boats, Correct Crafts (Nautique) and Supra. The Big Five has never gathered on one venue in Russia before. Well, the visitors of the festival will havee a great opportunity to estimate the benefits of a particular model, and producers will be able to present their main competitive advantages. Apart the Big Five the Russian market has such brands as Tige and Moomba, and in all there are more than 20 manufacturers of tower boats, mainly from the United States.
The EXTREMEX Festival in Sokolniki will show the world wakeboarding superstars, including a solid crew of proriders from the US who will demonstrate their skills in the show program for jibbing. We’ll be happy to see you from May 24 through 27, 2012 in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre.
